2 Kings 19:32-33 records God’s promise of protection for Jerusalem against the Assyrian army. The passage states:
32 "Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning the king of Assyria:
‘He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here.
He will not come before it with shield or build a siege ramp against it.
33 By the way that he came he will return;
he will not enter this city,’ declares the Lord."
This passage reassures King Hezekiah and the people of Judah that:
Divine Protection – The Assyrian king will not harm Jerusalem.
God’s Sovereignty – The enemy’s plans will fail because God is in control.
Victory Without a Battle – The city will be saved without Judah needing to fight.
This event is a testimony of how God defends His people when they trust in Him, fulfilling His promises without human intervention.
