Chateau Church Worship

This passage describes part of the crucifixion of Jesus, focusing on His interaction with the two criminals crucified beside Him.

  • Verses 32–33: Jesus is led away with two criminals, and all three are crucified at a place called The Skull (Golgotha)—Jesus in the middle, with one criminal on each side.

  • Verse 34: Jesus prays, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Even in His suffering, He shows mercy and forgiveness.

  • Verses 35–38: The people, rulers, and soldiers mock Him, saying He saved others but cannot save Himself. A sign above Him reads, “This is the King of the Jews.”

  • Verses 39–41: One criminal insults Jesus, demanding He save them all if He is the Messiah. The other rebukes him, acknowledging their guilt and declaring that Jesus is innocent.

  • Verses 42–43: The repentant criminal turns to Jesus, saying, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” Jesus replies, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in paradise.”
