On the cross, Jesus was placed between two criminals, both near death, both near eternity, yet only one had a “good religion.” This passage challenges us to ask: Is my faith real, or just an empty form of religion?

4. Religion That Secures Eternal Life (v. 43)

• Jesus’ response: “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

  Real faith brings peace now and the promise of heaven later.
