Chateau Church Worship

The Corinthian believers were saying, “All things are lawful.”
Paul responds by explaining that not everything that is allowed is helpful, constructive, or glorifying to God.

He reminds them that our decisions—what we eat, drink, say, or do—must consider:

  • Does it build others up?

  • Does it bring peace?

  • Does it honor God?

Ultimately, Paul concludes with one of the strongest statements in Scripture:
“Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Living to glorify God means making choices that reflect His character, His love, and His truth in every aspect of life.

Sermon Outline: “Glorify God in All Things”

1. Not Everything Profitable Is Permissible (v. 23)

Just because you are free in Christ doesn’t mean everything is beneficial.
Spiritual maturity asks:
Will this action help my walk with God or hinder it?
Will it build others or stumble them?

Glorifying God starts with making wise choices.

2. Seek the Good of Others, Not Just Yourself (v. 24)

Paul teaches that love should guide our freedom.
The goal is not self-pleasing, but blessing others.

Your life is a ministry.
Your actions should reflect Christ’s love.

Glorifying God means being selfless.

3. Live With a Clear Conscience Before God and Man (v. 25–29)

Paul explains that believers can enjoy their freedom without guilt—
but must also be sensitive to the conscience of others.

Your freedom should never harm someone else’s faith.
Your choices must reflect a heart surrendered to God.

Glorifying God means living responsibly and respectfully.

4. Everything Is an Opportunity for Worship (v. 31)

This is the heart of the passage.

“Whatever you do—do all to the glory of God.”

Not just church.
Not just prayer.
Not just spiritual moments.

But:

  • your work

  • your eating

  • your conversations

  • your spending

  • your relationships

  • your decisions

Life becomes worship when God becomes the reason.
